Hollywood starlet Anne Hathaway has signed on to star in the lead role of the film adapted novel written by David Nicholls’ tale entitled One Day. Hathaway will co-star in the romance drama alongside British performer Jim Sturgess who has appeared in such films as The Other Boleyn Girl and Crossing Over.

‘One Day’ follows a love affair between Emma and Dexter that spans over two decades. Hathaway will portray Emma, a working class women and Dexter, a rich upper class gentleman played by Sturgess.“I can imagine you at forty,’ she said, with malice in her voice. ‘I can picture it right now.’ He smiled without opening his eyes. ‘Go on then.’ 15th July 1988. Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows? Twenty years, two people, ONE DAY.”
