Meet ‘Pinoy Fear Factor: South America’ 12 Challengers

Fear is definitely not a factor as 12 contestants face the challenges of Pinoy Fear Factor. The popular US reality program is the latest hit worldwide franchise by Endemol—the company behind Pinoy Big Brother and Pinoy Dream Academy—to be adapted for Philippine television. But instead of the weekly episodic format, Pinoy Fear Factor will follow the serialized theme of Fear Factor Extreme. The Philippines is the third country to use this format after South Africa and India. Pinoy Fear Factor will be shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina where the contestants will try to surpass several stunts and challenges. Who among them will conquer their greatest fears?

The Contestants

Six Men

Ang basketball hunk na may fear of heights

The lover boy na madaling mandiri

Ang struggling Tondo dad. Kargador sa pier na may fear of heights

The funny Austrian na takot sa ipis

Ang papalicious chef na may fear of heights din

The promdi veterinarian na dalawang beses bumagsak sa board exam. Madaling magulat.

Six Women

The glam goddess. Host at model na takot sa ipis at daga.

Ang hot momma. Nabuntis ng maaga. Takot sa tubig.

The new Ms. Body Beautiful na takot sa snakes

Ang party bombshell na dating mayaman na naghirap ang pamilya. May fear of water.

The daredevil chick na tinalikuran ang showbiz. May fear of the unknown.

Ang flawless girl ng Dagat-Dagatan. May fear of snakes.

Finding these 12 finalists was the first challenge for Direk Lauren Dyogi and the people behind PFF. In the auditions held nationwide, hopefuls were asked to perform some small stunts and had to undergo physical and psychological examinations. Knowing how to swim and drive was also a strict requirement. There were also some contestants who failed to meet particular clauses in the contract hence had to back out, which further extended the selection process to almost two months.

These 12 challengers are set to leave by the end of August and they will stay in Argentina for a month. One will become the first winner of Pinoy Fear Factor: South America and will take home the P2 million cash prize and a house and lot worth P2.5 million from Avida.
