'Adela' Bags All Awards in the 2008 Young Critics Circle Awards

Adela, a film about the lonely birthday of a grandmother has bagged the title of Best Film of 2008, according to the Film Desk of the Young Critics Circle. Adela (played by Anita Linda) shows a day in the life of a woman who is about to celebrate her 80th birthday. This is Anita's latest movie to feature her in the lead role since her 1998 film Ang Babae Sa Bubungang Lata.

The Anita Linda-starrer dominated the YCC Awards when it was chosen as the film with the Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Visual Design, Best Editing, Best Sound and Aural Orchestration, and Best Performance.

Here is the list of films to honored by the YCC during the awarding ceremony scheduled for March 11, 2009. It will tke place at the Conference Hall, Faculty Center, University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City.

Best Film - Adela directed by Adolf Alix Jr.
Nominee - Serbis directed by Brillante "Dante" Mendoza

Best Screenplay - Adela directed by Adolf Alix Jr.
Nominees - Imoral directed by Adolf Alix Jr. and Serbis directed by Brillante "Dante" Mendoza

Best Cinematography and Visual Design - Adela
Nominees - Yanggaw and Serbis

Best Editing - Adela
Nominees - Yanggaw and Serbis

Best Sound and Aural Orchestration - Adela

Best Performance - Anita Linda in Adela
