TV5's 'Journo' Digs Up Back Story on General Angelo Reyes's Suicide

Amid the ongoing Senate hearings on the issues of systemic corruption and pabaon system (sendoff money) in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the nation woke up last Tuesday morning to breaking news that former AFP Chief Angelo Reyes took his own life before his mother's grave at Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City. With his sudden death, General Reyes brought his side of the truth to the grave and left the public wondering how the corruption issues against him would unfold.

This Tuesday on Journo, veteran journalist and News5 Head Luchi Cruz-Valdes talks to fellow journos as they share their views and insights on Angelo Reyes's suicide and how it will affect the ongoing investigation on military corruption. With former Manila Standard columnist and blogger Connie Veneracion, columnists Cito Beltran (Philippine Star) and Rina Jimenez-David (Philippine Daily Inquirer) share their opinions on the issue. Meanwhile, TV5 reporters Jove Francisco and Erel Cabatbat share firsthand accounts from their coverage of the hearings to Reyes's death.

From the team that gave birth to some of the finest documentaries on TV, News5 presents Journo, a show that features current and controversial articles from top journalists and bloggers of our time and hear the opinions straight from the horse's mouth. It also explores all possible sides of a story by getting the points of view of different people.

Find out what could be the possible implications of General Reyes's death on the Senate hearings on military corruption this Tuesday on Journo, airing after Aksyon JournalisMO on TV5.
