'Friday Night Lights' renewed for 2 more seasons

"Friday Night Lights," the acclaimed drama about a small town in Texas, has been picked up for two additional seasons, Variety reports.

Stars Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler (who play Tami and Eric Taylor) will return, as willyounger actors Aimee Teegarden (Julie Taylor) and Jesse Plemons (Landry Clarke), executive producer Jason Katims told TV Guide.

As was the case with the show's third season, Seasons 4 and 5 will consist of 13 episodes each and will air first on DirecTV and be broadcast later on NBC.

Actors who played characters who graduated from the show's fictional Dillon High School in Season 3 may return for multi-episode guest arcs in future seasons. The finale of the show's third season airs April 10 on NBC.
