Kate Middleton

To be honest, I really didn't care about the "Royal Wedding" and I didn't watch it, but I loved these pictures of her. I thought her dress was really pretty.

Lea Salonga Reacts on Willie Revillame's Decision Not To File Libel Case Against Her, et al

Internationally recognized Pinay theater actress Lea Salonga said she felt relieved knowing that Willie Revillame decides not to pursue the libel case against them and other artists whom Willie thought were attacking her on twitter.

"I mean, obviously that's a relief. However, I don't know if you can file a case against someone who's just expressing his opinion," Lea said during the Avon's 125th year party.

Lea added, "My thing is, you know what, you are in showbiz. You are and I am an open target... So you know what, anybody can say anything they want. Just don't make me muraand I will respect what they say. Huwag nila akong murahin. Rerespetuhin ko ang opinion nila."

It will be recalled that on April 8 during the last live airing of Willing Willie, Willie threatened to file a libel case against Lea, Bianca Gonzales, Jim Paredes, Aiza Seguerra, Agot Isidro, Tuesday Vargas, K Brosas, Leah Navarro and Mylene Dizon who publicly expressed their opinions about the controversial Jan-Jan Suan Willing Willie child abuse issue.

Soap Discussion - April 2011

Another month comes to an end, so here's some thoughts on the soaps from that month...

Coronation Street: Not necessarily a remarkable month for the show if I'm being honest, apart from the fact that John's unraveling should lead to a good exit next month but apart from that and the double weddings of David/She Demon Kylie and Graeme/Xin, the rest of it was rather tedious with the contrived way of splitting up Eddie/Anna and the somewhat rushed return of Todd with posh totty Jools and Marcus and Sean catching up. I already know where Sean and Marcus's storyline is going as well and I'm not sure I care that much. Still, it's better than anything concerning Steve/Becky/Tracy though.

Emmerdale: Now this was a dull month to be honest that really nothing stood out too much. Cain sleeping with Amy just basically reinforced his inability to keep his dick in his pants and Chariry chickening out on getting even with him irritated me to no end. Also, like Faye, Maisie and Will, Ryan was given a pretty duff exit and the feuding between John and Declan over the farm was anything but riveting. Even the Aaron/Jackson storyline managed to bore but that could be done to my own hang ups about where it's going to go though.

EastEnders: Ah, finally the resolution of the baby swap storyline. Ronnie ended up finally doing the right thing and giving Kat/Alfie back baby Tommy and creating even more ripples as a result. Luckily we had Jean on hand, wasn't it when it came to Kat? Elsewhere, Tanya/Greg's wedding wasn't riveting until she starting kissing Max, Whitney's return just happened and the writers tried to make me care about Heather's lovelife and Mercy being threatened with deportation. Well, I did say tried but it was a better month for the show regardless.

Fair City: Okay spending most of the month being falsely accused of being a paedophile but then ending the month by killing off the rather harmless Sarah was another. You have to hand it to Barry - the man is both horribly unlucky and spectacularly messes up and having Denzo an ally/blackmailer is also just as unfortunate. It's also one of the best storylines they've done this year and anything is better than the show's usual commentary on the character's financial struggles.
Hollyoaks: Silas strikes again. He might have failed to do in Lindsay but he managed to bump off Jenny/Rebecca during her own failed attempts to con him and while I don't feel sorry for either Doug or Brendan, I do like how her death is having major consequences for the characters. Sil;as is definitely shaping up to be one of the best soap villains and given the way he was looking at Mercedes last night, it looks like he has another victim lined up in the next few weeks. On a less positive note though, can the show do away with the Amy/Lee/Leanne triangle already? Maybe Leanne could just bugger off already.

Pippa Middleton, Kate Middleton's Sister Almost Grab The Spotlight From Prince William - Kate Middleton Royal Wedding

LONDON - It may have been Kate Middleton's big day - but her sister and maid of honor Pippa Middleton turned almost as many heads on Friday attracting a flood of praise on the Internet.

As soon as she stepped out of a Rolls-Royce for the royal wedding at Westminster Abbey wearing a figure-hugging white dress with a plunging neckline, web surfers rushed to heap compliments on the 27-year-old.

Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan led the way, writing on microblogging site Twitter: "Tell you what!!! Pippa is fit..."

"Is Pippa Middleton England's most eligible bachelorette now?" tweeted Sarah Weaver, commented another Twitter user.

Some even thought she outshone Kate at her wedding to Prince William, which was watched by an estimated two billion TV viewers around the world and drew at least one million well-wishers onto the streets of London.

"Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton are gorgeous. Pippa I'm afraid takes the biscuit," said @ellaTheStrokes on Twitter.

Would-be suitors looked set to be disappointed, however - Pippa is reportedly dating England cricketer Alex Loudon.

Pippa's dress was ivory and white satin, similar in detail to her 29-year-old sister's wedding gown.

The two sisters' dresses were created by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen and both outfits were praised by fashion experts and the public alike.

Pippa, who shares a flat with her brother in the upmarket London district of Chelsea, works for her parents' party goods business, Party Pieces

Royal Wedding: Prince William - Kate Middleton Wedding Photos

LONDON, United Kingdom - Prince William married Kate Middleton in regal splendour at Westminster Abbey Friday as huge crowds and a global TV audience watched Britain's monarchy pin its hopes on a new generation.

In the biggest royal celebration for three decades, Kate, wearing an ivory and white satin wedding dress with long lace sleeves, a veil and a flowing train, exchanged vows with William, who wore a scarlet military tunic.

"I will," the future king and queen each pronounced solemnly, before William put a ring fashioned from a nugget of Welsh gold on her finger and the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams pronounced them man and wife.

William, 28, mouthed "You look beautiful" to his bride after she walked up the aisle to the soaring strains of a choral piece that was used at the wedding of William's late mother Diana to Prince Charles in 1981.

The absence of Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, was keenly felt despite the joyful atmosphere of Friday's service, which also featured a hymn used at her funeral in the same abbey.

A sea of hundreds of thousands of people waved Union Jack flags in the streets outside while 1,900 guests including footballer David Beckham and singer Elton John were invited to the service in the abbey.

Two billion people - a third of the world's population - are expected to have watched Diana's eldest son wed the commoner he began dating at St Andrews university in Scotland eight years ago.

It is Britain's richest display of pageantry since that wedding 30 years ago and offers Britain's royal family a chance at renewal after Charles and Diana's traumatic public split before her tragic death.

"They will make the monarchy fashionable again. It's good for the country," said Louise Akehurst, 25, an administrator from London.

The couple will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, after Queen Elizabeth II, William's grandmother, bestowed the titles on them on the morning of the wedding.

William Arthur Philip Louis - as the second in line to the throne was called during the service - arrived at the church 45 minutes early accompanied by his younger brother and best man Prince Harry.

Kate, 29, had waved to the crowd as she arrived at the abbey with her father Michael in a Rolls-Royce limousine. She took four minutes to walk down the aisle, which was lined with trees especially brought in to create the feel of an English garden.

Middleton walked up the aisle to The Introit, from the Latin meaning entrance, which was used as The Anthem in 1981. The first hymn - "Guide me, O thou great redeemer", was the last sung at Diana's funeral 14 years ago.

William a 28-year-old Royal Air Force search and rescue helicopter pilot, winked and shared a joke with Kate's father after appearing to tell his bride she looked beautiful.

Kate, however, did not promise to obey her husband in her marriage vows - following in the footsteps of Diana, who married Charles on July 29, 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral.

Charles and Diana divorced 15 years later.

Palace officials confirmed her dress was by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, the iconic British designer who committed suicide last year.

Guests inside included footballer David Beckham, singer Elton John and "Mr Bean" actor Rowan Atkinson. Fifty members of the royal family and dozens of foreign royals were due after William.

Hundreds of thousands of campers transformed The Mall, the wide boulevard leading to Buckingham Palace, into a sea of Union Jack flags.

Sandra Russell, 65, who is of French-British nationality, said she thought the marriage would be successful because Kate is "much older than Diana was at the time, much more mature and they are marrying for love."

"Charles was under the pressure of his family. People here are still angry at him, and Camilla (his second wife) too. I hope William will be the next king."

After the service, the newlyweds climbed into a horse-drawn open carriage to make the journey from the abbey to Buckingham Palace where the couple will follow tradition by appearing on the balcony with the royal family and kissing.

About 5,500 street parties are expected across Britain on Friday, including in the Scottish university of St Andrews, where William and Kate met, and in the bride's home village of Bucklebury.

More than 8,500 journalists and technical staff are covering the wedding for a global audience.

My Review of Brothers And Sisters 5x15: "Brody"

Written by Molly Newman
Directed by Matthew Rhys

Nora: “Are you thrilled with how your life turned out?”
Brody: “It’s had its ups and downs but it’s not over yet.”

Maybe they should’ve changed the title of this episode to “Everybody Loves Brody” because it comes to making a first impression, Brody pretty much won everyone over that featured here and it’s easy to see why – Beau Bridges was just perfect casting.

In less than one episode, he made Brody into a far more engaging and nicely drawn character that even if they are plot holes and the foreboding sense of dread that he is actually Sarah’s father, it was pretty damn hard not to like him. He certainly deserves points for the cute dog and his uncanny knack of getting Nora flustered as well.

And this is why I want Brody not be a flash in the pan character. We already got our annual short lived relationship with Nora and Karl, so let Brody actually be the one that goes the distance, even if the show is retooling most of it’s continuity in order to solidify Brody’s overall importance to Nora’s past.

After all, he was the one who got away and according to Nora was deeply unreliable. Both of those issues are more or less hashed out here with Nora and Brody’s interactions but the fact that he left Lily the dog behind him in Nora’s care is a safe indicator that we at least have another appearance due shortly.

If Brody himself wasn’t likeable enough, then Lily the dog was definitely loved. Kevin couldn’t get enough of seeing her and Nora even allowed her to sleep on her bed and I was definitely relieved when she survived her operation as well, which was quite the feat given how Lily was supposed to be here.

Yes, even I’m a sucker for a dog and while it could’ve been seen as a rather convoluted way of trying to endear Brody, the episode highlighted his shortcoming as well without demonising. He wasn’t too sorry to learn that William had been a serial cheater (though he wasn’t a jackass about it either) and his commitment issues were definitely Nora’s main reason for not wanting to let her guard down with him.

It’s a fair point on Nora’s end but this episode then heavily suggested that if Brody hadn’t been so into his baseball, would Nora have actually ended up with William? Every year the show has made William look less and less good and this continued the trend but Brody himself was man enough to admit that things between him and Nota wouldn’t have worked out for them but now could be an option.

However the one thing I am unconvinced of with this episode is Sarah’s paternity. I really don’t want the show to go and change who her father is but it’s pretty likely that that’s exactly what will happen and silly as its sounds, it’s the only strike that Brody has going against him at the moment. Everything else is just muffins in comparison.

Speaking of muffins – poor Joaquin. Every little sack of flour that comes into the world will one day have a future in creating bread, cakes, pastries and of course, muffins but for Joaquin, that future came a little too soon. On paper, this storyline with Paige sounds so inane but on screen, it’s actually quite funny.

Paige desperately took taking care of a sack of flour as a baby by proxy way too seriously but when it came to getting lessons about pregnancy out of wedlock, all she had to do was learn about her grandmother being pregnant with her mother to really drill the point home. Still, Joaquin’s death wasn’t in vain. I hear the muffins he spawned were absolutely yummy. Just ignore Kevin’s reaction when consuming them though.

Paige wasn’t the only playing carer this week as Justin decided to take in a homeless, emotionally volatile army vet named Zach for his troubles. It was a nice thing for Justin to do and I like that he wanted to help Zach as best he could but he could be out of his depth. Still, points to him for being an all around gentleman this week.

As for Tommy and Rose’s departure/new job – eh, it was the weakest part of the episode but truth be told, maybe Tommy and Sarah just aren’t cut out to work with each other. Also I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last we see of them in the season and apart from one argument, Tommy’s exit went smoother than other ones.

Also in “Brody”

Brody is the second character to get an episode named after him, the first being Julia back in the third season, though Rebecca was referred to as “The Other Walker” during the first year.

Kevin (re Joaquin): “Right, so is it a boy or a girl?”
Paige: “Boy!”
Kevin: “How can you tell?”

Kevin playing with paper clips, dressing Joaquin up in a hoodie, his scenes with Lily/Brody and reaction to the muffins were comic gold from Matthew Rhys.

Tommy (to Sarah): “I don’t know what my job title is around here but it’s starting to feel like referee.”

Nora (re Sarah): “Your name came up in conversation.”
Brody: “That must have been one hell of a conversation. She wanted to know if I was her father. Where’d she get that idea?”

Brody had two marriages in the space of ten years and once spooked Ida when sneaking to see Nora. I liked his nickname for her – slugger.

Kevin (re Brody): “I like him.”
Nora: “You don’t like him. You just like watching me squirm.”

Nora: “I thought you said you had no agenda.”
Brody: “I don’t. Lily was sick to her stomach, so I let myself into the kitchen to make her a little rice to eat.”

Matthew Rhys directed this episode, making it his third in two seasons and he’s due to direct a later one as well.

Tommy: “I didn’t expect to see everybody here.”
Nora: “Evidently, Brody’s a big draw.”

One again, there was no Kitty in this episode but there was also no Luc, Saul or Scotty and I’m sure all of them would’ve loved Brody/Lily too.

Nora: “You have regrets?”
Brody: “Well, my baseball career didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped but if I had given up that dream and gotten married, I would’ve made your life miserable.”

Chronology: I’m going to assume it’s around February/March 2012, given when ABC aired this episode.

“Brody” was definitely an episode that felt like the show I fell in love with. The character interactions were spot, the humour flowed naturally and I couldn’t help but find myself warming to a Nora/Brody pairing but I guess it is early days and there’s more to him that needs to be uncovered.

Rating: 9 out of 10.

Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal Reunite For Spooky Nights Presents: The Ringtone

Kapuso stars Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal topbill Spooky Nights' second offering, The Ring Tone. It replaces Marian Rivera's Bampirella and begins airing this Saturday, April 30.

Having journeyed stardom together, from Starstruck to having a title role each, Aljur and Kris proved their team-up and friendship to be strong and perennial.

Last seen in the primetime soap, Machete, the Al-Kris love team comes back in a horror comedy series inspired by Asian horror films like The Ring, The Grudge and The Eye.

In the story, Aljur stars as a "bad boy" named Brix. He is a "maginoo-pero-medyo-bastos" type who courts a sweet girl played by Kris. Opposite him, Kris' character, Nancy is very lady-like and can even be described as very "manang." She secretly likes Brix but plays hard-to-get to the guy.

The story begins when Brix, Nancy and their friends win a weekend treat in a resort from a radio text promo. Unknown to them, their supposedly fun summer adventure could turn ugly and even scary as they encounter a vengeful ghost of a woman named Sad-ako.

Amid the scary and crazy situations the group runs into, their friendship is put to the test as they discover that Sad-ako haunts them because of Brix.

Will the opposites, Brix and Nancy, end up with each other? Or will Sad-ako's revenge and claims of having a past with him dissolve the attraction Nancy has for the bad boy? Will the two and their friends get out of the haunted resort alive?

Joining Aljur and Kris in this series directed by Lore Reyes are Sam Pinto as Tricia, Nancy's friend and love rival; Sef Cadayona as Vanessa, the uniquely "gifted" BFF of Nancy and Tricia; Gerould Aceron as Mac, Brix's younger brother; DJ Rico Robles as Papa King, the mysterious DJ; Gene Padilla as Mang Aga, driver of the barkada; Benjie Paras as Dr. Morgan; and Moymoy Palaboy in their surprise roles.

Starting April30, Spooky Nights Presents: The Ring Tone airs every Saturday before Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho on GMA-7.

JM de Guzman and Lauren Young Get Closer On-and Off-Cam in ‘Mula sa Puso’

Just like their characters Gabriel and Via in the hit primetime soap "Mula sa Puso," JM De Guzman and Lauren Young seem to be getting closer to each other.

The two are said to be spending time a lot off cam and would even fool around the set teasing and tickling each other. JM would reportedly put his chair right beside Lauren's whenever they are on standby inside the tent.

The dramatic actor doesn't deny this but clarifies that he did it so that he will get closer to Lauren who is his loveteam in the show.

"We really need to establish a bond off-screen so that, the moment we are in front of the cameras we are already comfortable with each other and do better with our scenes specially the kilig ones," explained JM.

This is the first time the two worked with each other and Lauren admitted that she didn't really have a hard time working on their chemistry.

"JM is very easy to get along with so we became close really fast. I can say we are now really comfortable being around one another," said Lauren.

Fans will definitely fall in love even more this week as Gabriel and Via's relationship gets deeper. Via is starting to reciprocate Gabriel's affection but how long can they keep up especially now that her father Fernando is against them?

During the Holy Week, ABS-CBN ran a special marathon of "Mula sa Puso" which was well received by its avid viewers.

Don't miss "Mula sa Puso," Mondays to Fridays, before "TV Patrol" on ABS-CBN.
