Catch real-life action on late night television beginning this Thursday, May 13, after Saksi, as GMA News and Public Affairs launches "Rescue" - a reality-documentary program hosted by broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio.
"Rescue" takes late night viewers to an action-packed experience as it showcases actual footage of raids, drug buy-bust operations, crucial medical operations and on-site accidents. It aims to depict modern day heroism by following men and women in uniform and even civilians who respond to life-saving missions.
Inspired by the U.S. reality show Cops, Rescue will pioneer the fly-on-the-wall style of reality format on the local television, where viewers catch real-life drama as it happens.
On the May 13 pilot episode, fireman Ericson Vargas and his team respond to a fire incident that razed over 20 houses in San Juan . Affected residents clogged the road as they tried to save their belongings, making it difficult for the team to penetrate the area. Will they be able to save lives and properties before it's too late?
Meanwhile, Makati Rescue received a distress call about an alleged mauling incident in Laperal Compound. Alvin Araza and his team rushed to the area, only to find a lifeless man lying in a pool of blood. Just when they thought that there were no more lives to save, the team found the victim's brother who is covered in blood and suffering from a severe head injury. Tension rises when the victim refused to be brought to the hospital.
Rescue also introduces barangay tanod Rolando Marin who responded to a minor who complained of being a battered wife.
The pilot episode of Rescue will start airing this Thursday, May 13, after Saksi, only on GMA 7.
